Historical Drum Corps Publications
A permanent home to share my family collection of Drum Corps publications. My Mom started this collection in the 40s. This is my labor of love. I hope you all enjoy these articles / scores / pictures... as much as we have over the decades. History must be preserved. This is my lil corner / contribution to the drum corps community (online). A place for all of us to live, relive, learn, love and share in our passionate hobby. Please feel free to add comments, share your experiences, stories, etc.

Michael J Cahill - "Drums in the NIght" at Fitchburgh MA in July 1962 was arguably the best job EVER by the Cambridge Caballeros! About a month prior, Cambridge had defeated the Garfield Cadets for the first time ever in Nashua, NH. Drum corps politics being much more significant than they are today, they didn't want to be headed to the VFW Nationals with this defeat hanging over their heads, so they found an invitational show where they could "come north" to defeat us. Everone in the stands knew what was going on. It was a 7 corps show. The sponsors ran 5 corps and then had an intermission. Folowing the intermission, Garfield and Cambridge. We stood on the starting line and watched Garfield pull off a great job. We knew that we had to top it, and we did. Maybe, my finest memory in jr. drum corps! We beat them by just over a point.
I think the show Cambridge did at "Preview of Champions" at Jersey City on June 3, 1962 was one of the finest performances by any drum corps EVER!! What a shame this group disbanded! I still play the vinyl record over and over and am blown away by that sound every time! Would love to,hear from any previous members of the fine group! Thanks.
