Historical Drum Corps Publications
A permanent home to share my family collection of Drum Corps publications. My Mom started this collection in the 40s. This is my labor of love. I hope you all enjoy these articles / scores / pictures... as much as we have over the decades. History must be preserved. This is my lil corner / contribution to the drum corps community (online). A place for all of us to live, relive, learn, love and share in our passionate hobby. Please feel free to add comments, share your experiences, stories, etc.

I was in this one with Selden, and it brings back a funny memory. They made a recording of this show, and they put out on a wild colored green vinyl lp.
But back to my (funny now, not so funny then memory).
The hall was smaller than a regular field, so a shortened drill was in order, naturally.
We marched out playing a song or two, and went into a concert formation. The crowd applauded after we stopped and then came the silence and anticipation of a concert number. All's quiet. You can hear a pin drop, when the DM commands HORNS UP!
Well, my trusty Getzen soprano gets caught on my sash as I whip up my horn, and sends a forward slide rocketing across the floor right toward one of the judges. His eyes light up as he sees the chrome missile coming toward him. This again is all in dead silence. The slide crashes to the floor with a loud bang. You could hear this all the way to Buffalo. My blood pressure goes through the roof as the judge picks up the lonely slide and makes his way toward me. I was surprised he knew it was mine. He handed me the slide and I was back in business.
My blood pressure returned to normal and it was "On With The Show"!
That was 42 years ago my friends, and it still feels like yesterday.
Excellent story / memory.... C'mon... what's your name?
Someday I'll have to work up the courage to tell you. You wouldn't know me though. I only know you from your work here and the other forums and respect your input always. Please forgive me. It's a sensitive issue and to others might seem selfish, but i don't troll and only offer up memories I feel others would enjoy.
By the way, that was a wooden floor in that hall. I hope I didn't give someone a heart attack.
Courage? Well... ok, I guess I see your point. But, there is so much more to it than that.
This isn't about, whether you know me or not...It wasn't like I was trying to call you out... it's more about taking your part in Drum Corps' History and keeping / making it as real as possible for history sake. And perhaps your name would trigger others to join in. No?
Which I think this story / memory really touches on a whole lot of reality levels. It shows, (in my opinion), integrety, initiative, respect, perseverence, Pride, dedication, amongst many other things.
Hence the reason I asked your name.
I set this up so that there was no pressure. In hopes that folks would freely join in and share their memories / info. Without having to join anything and freely keep this documentary as real as possible. And be able to relate with further generations with similar humanities.
At any rate.... I really appreciate you sharing your memories and keeping it real! It takes all these publications to real life (much more) when folks chime in like this!
Can't thank you enough for your input. Please continue to
join in anytime.... with or without your name.... I know I love it and I bet others do too!!
And another great message of yours:
"On With The Show!*
