Drum Corps News Aug. 29, 1962 issue
RICHMOND HAWKS Jr. Corps members from Richmond, Calif. show off their new drums and shakos as they prepare for the American Legion Nationals Oct. 7 in Las Vegas. The corps has won their last two contests in Stockton and the Napa County Fair competition. The Hawks are under the direction of Bill Medina, and Tom Wuetrich is manager. They are sponsored by the Richmond Moose Lodge.

My brother, Frank Rua, was drum major for the Richmond Hawks Junior Drum and Bugle Corps for many years. The Corps was our familie's main activity whether it be practices, competitions or parades. We did everything together following the Hawks around competing. I wouldn't trade those days for anything. I'd love to see a page dedicated to this group. My whole family was involved and we've wondered what happened to many of them.
